Google showing video thumbnails in results - just sometimes.

Currently managing a site with a lot of video content. Some of our pages containing video appear in google search results as a video, with a video thumbnail, but some dont. Is there any rhyme or reason to for this?

Anybody have any ideas on how to get all our video content to be returned in google search as video with video thumbnails?

Something we are doing with some video but not with others?

(Mods, if this is in the wrong place or already answered, apologies and please move)

Hello Amps, and welcome to the forums.

I have been studying this and my tentative conclusion is that traffic data plays a part in it. This would be especially true if someone else's video shows up on the query and your doesn't.

However, if no video result shows up, complete with thumbnail and so on, then the Universal Search algo has decided, for now at least, that users don't want a video result for that query.

Ah! So if im the only one with a video on the subject, then its unlikely that my video will appear as a video with a thumbnail.

Cheers tedster, much appreciated!
