Something which has come up previously was Google forcing people onto country-specific news sites.

Please stop forcing these on people. By all means, give us the option, but don't assume to force these on us.

IP detection for content purposes is something I have been advising clients to abandon, and those who have are happier with the results.

If googlebot spidered their own News section, it would never see anything but California stuff!
