"site:" search on Google Images only brings up 1 result

I know there are many pics of mine on Google images, as they show up when I put in various search terms

However when I do a 'site:example.com' search for images from my site it only brings up 1 result from my site. Why does it only pick up 1, when I know there are many more?

I've also noticed some anomalies with the site: operator on Image Search. Image Search made a lot of changes this past year and mostly they are an improvement. However, getting the original site correct is apparently a challenge.

Part of that challenge may be the number of sites who call out to a different server for images, part of it is hot-linking, and there are probably other challenges as well. How they all combine on the back end is anyone's guess, but the anomalies certainly do creep in.
