How to solve a spammers backlinks

There is a spammer that put his posts (with many links) on several forums and in any of his posts there is a link to a section of my forum: www.example.com/forum/section.html because he believes to have some of his posts in www.example.com/forum/section.html (but my messages in my forum have to be approved so he has nothing).

I found his post, then contact the system admin of the websites and sometimes the webmaster delete his posts, sometimes no. But the more I erase his posts the more he adds.
I cannot fight against him. So I was thinking: If I change the url of the section of my forum from www.example.com/forum/section.html to www.example.com/forum/section1.html will that solve the question for google?
His posts will continue to link to www.example.com/forum/section.html that will be a 404 page, but how Google will consider those links pointing to a 404 page?

Have you tried contacting the spammer to let them know they're wasting their time building links to page that they are not featured on?

I don't know how Google will treat the links, but I think a 404 is the best option.

Can you not block his IP number and deny access to the site ?

I'm not sure what the official policy is however I'm sure they see millions of 404s every day, that's just the nature of The Net.

FWIW I have one specifc page with an image that has been targetted by the myspace page theme builders, so far this month that page has thrown 67,000+ 404s and 74,000+ 302s.

People still keep trying to hotlink to it even though it is not available and many of the sites that were using that image still reference my site since they're that dumb they haven't even noticed the image is missing or they simply don't know how to change the reference.

FranticFish:
Of course it has been the first thing I made: contacting the spammer. But he did not care about my message because I saw he continues to spam. Probabably it is a standard message he spams on several forums. He is linking to my forum even if he does not have any message on it.

Staffa:
the problem is not accessing the website, the problem is Google will consider me a spammer if I am not able to avoid such spamming links.

So I have no chance except for a 404 page? :(
That's a sh... situation!

You're not the one creating the links therefore you cannot be the spammer. 404s are a fact of Internet life, don't worry about it.

He is linking the same page of my forum with words like viag#*$!x and my website is not about that. So you HuskyPup are suggesting me to do nothing?

I don't know how much you can really do to stop the spammer from linking to your forums. Even assuming you could figure out how to contact the spammer, I'm not sure that asking them to stop linking to your forums would do any good. In fact it might make matters worse as they could decide to step up their link spamming out of spite.

In regards to your Google concern, I'm afraid only Google can answer that question. One would hope that they have ways of detecting the difference between when a site is perpetrating link spam and when one is the victim of link spam. At the very least they shouldn't penalize sites for bad incoming links since such penalties could be easily abused by others.

As KenB said I can't think what you could do. You're not the one creating the links therefore it's outside of your control.

He's not profiting from your site since there's nothing there so why he's doing it is anyone's guess.

When I check my logs I find referrals from all kinds of dubious sites however when I visit to check them out there's nothing linking to me at all. If you're really that worried ask Google support but wait a week or two for a response, however I feel you'll find there's not a lot can be done other than what you have.
