Articles indexed, but not ranking for title

Hi,

I've noticed a problem lately with my blog. All my articles get indexed a few minutes after they get published, though they don't rank for the titles anymore. Instead, the index, tag page, category page, author page rank for that title. This has been happening since yesterday and had happened about a month ago too.

Earlier in the morning, the tags were ranking for all the article titles, then I put a nofollow on them and then the index, category or other page was ranking. After that, I only put an excerpt of the articles on all pages, but the article wasn't ranking either.

Also if I do a search for a quoted phrase from the article, there's always other page that ranks higher. Sometimes splogs rank higher than my website for content they copied.

Also I have to say that my old keywords and articles haven't been affected at all.

How long did this continue last month, before it presumably reverted?

Just a few days. Now it seems like things got back to normal again. I believe it's just that Google keeps testing Caffeine and new algorithm, because it would make no sense otherwise.

we are experiencing the same problem, how long will this Caffeine test go on?

My problem is back and it seems like nobody knows what the reason can be ? I've also seen many other blogs with this problem too.

I few people including myself are experiencing this issue. Google doesn’t seem to be handling new websites/pages correctly for a few weeks now.

I'm currently waiting for all the pages in my website to be assigned its correct ranking. Toolbar says ranking of 2, but its behaving like it has a ranking of minus 1 in the SERPs as they are very hard to find. Doesnt even rank number 1 for its own url.

It's the same case for me. I think it may be a Google error and not made intentionally.

I have a strange issue where new posts wont show up for exactly 7 days. this has been hapening for 1 month now.

I have rechecked and it seems I have the same problem as you. It's been happening since January 7th. If tomorrow it will index my articles from January 7th, I'll be sure I have the same problem.
