for my widget search i get these two different URL's when searching in firefox and then chrome. Im using google.com in both browsers I am signed out in both browsers.

www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=widget+small+grey&cts=1260855086757&aq=1&oq=widget+small+v&aqi=g6

www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=widget+small+grey&aq=1&oq=widget+small+v&aqi=g6

I can see the difference in the URL'sbut why? and what does it mean?

The "widget small" is a location, the "grey" is a object at that location.

whats going on? and more importantly which URL do the majority of searches for "widget small grey" return for the all the other people searching? i.e which url should I be more concerned about?

sorry for this basic question,I should really know what this means without asking...

thanks

The "oq" variable usually denotes an "original query" - i.e. one before spelling correction, or clicking on a keyword suggestion. There are other components such as the "HP" which denotes hardware manufacturer. "cts" seems to be a numeric identifier of some kind.

As to the question as to what "most" people have, the simplest possible URL is

www.google.com/search?q=[keyword]

But for most people other variables will be always end up included - so there's no "fixed" URL in that sense.
