keyword keeps appearing and disappearing in serps

Hey there..I'm getting quite confused here. I have win a keyword in Yahoo..and in Google also, it appeared in 4th/5th page. 3 days earlier I could see my keyword in 46th position..But since then I am not seeing that keyword in any page at all..quite weird..Is Google updating their database for past couple of days?
During this phase of time..when I viewed my visitor paths in Google Analytics..I did found Google, Mountain View, California. Now I am thinking that the keyword in 46th position could now be in 20-30th positon or may be up the order..haha (John Lee believes in optimism). Have anyone experienced such thing with their keywords? Give me some good answer guyss :D

Keep building links to your site and you will eventually get to the top. If you are moving around a lot that means your site is not stable in Google. This can happen with new sites and websites with odd link profiles or just not enough links. What kind of link profile do you have? How new is your site? How many links does yahoo show that you have?

Could it be because of the personalized search results you are seeing in Google?
