About three weeks ago, I changed the design of our website. The design contained a booking badge and some other items pertinent to our genre.
What has happened is this.
When I copy any unique content from the webpage, and place in quotes in G, I receive no results for that query EXCEPT for one sentence in the content. For that one sentence, when searched in quotes, an inner page that has NEVER even held that content is returned. G shows the meta description snippet for that inner page with the data from the homepage sentence. Again, to be clear, this inner page has never changed and has its own unique content and has never had this unique homepage snippet on it.....

When I search google for the following items here is what I get
site:mysite.com - my index page is listed in position one
cache:mysite.com - cache date of Oct.30 09
search for my business name - inner pages of the website are returned at the bottom of page on, two etc.
Index page is not found returned in any of those searches.
We don't purchase links or do anything that would warrant any type of penalty, and this doesn't look like 'classic' signs of a penalty, but I would like to hear feedback if possible from anyone here at WebmasterWorld.
I have submitted a reinclusion request, asking them to take a look at this problem.
Thanks for any feedback you might have.
What is VERY interesting is that searches for the business name with a plural second keyword, and searches for mixing words around shows us first place. Mixing in the main phrase keyword with other keywords also returns us first page, and *most* other pages on the website rank just fine.
