For years our GWT account has said this when first accessing the dashboard

"Googlebot has successfully accessed your home page."
"Pages from your site are included in Google's index."

Now all of our sites still show that except our biggest which shows
just.

"Pages from your site are included in Google's index."

Has anybody else seen this before? Think it's just a bug?

I just checked a bunch of sites and they all show the "full" message, not the shortened version. Don't know what to say about your observation. Two ideas com to mind for me. Yes, it could be a bug - but it could also be related to how long ago the site's home page was spidered.

I'm with tedster.

I get the 'full' message also. I don't have any GWT accounts where at least some part of the site isn't crawled within tops a few hours, but the deduction sounds reasonable.

Thanks folks, it's showing the full message now.

The site still is showing thousands of hits per hour from googlebot and many hundreds for the homepage.

Whats interesting is I found some sort of dns/hack attempt with googlebot thinking our website was some other website then 301/404.

DNS is intact and secure so I wonder...
