canonical-tag for domains

Hello!

I have the problem that I have several domains with the same content. Normally you would 301 them to one domain, but here it's done intentionally, because the different domain-names are used for different audience. Of course I could cloak the domains and redirect only google to one domain, but that seems to me to be a bad thing to do.

Some time ago, Google intruduced the canonical-tag to tell Google that a page is a douplicate entry for another page (and which page to take into the index). So I thought if the canonical-tag might work perhaps between domains as well?

The canonical tag is not yet supported across domains, however Google reps announced at SMX East that it soon will be.

Ah, thanks a lot - I think I will try this when it starts.
