Blog - better for SEO on my domain or Google's blog platform?

I intend to start a blog to help promote my site which currently is comprised of a zen-cart based store only.

I don't know however where to place that blog, in terms of SEO.

Which is better (in terms of SEO)? To place my blog on my domain? Or just use Google's blog platform?

Thanks!

And how are you going to promote the blog to promote the site ?
I know, make a blog to promote the other blog, to promote the site.

Neither. Add whatever you were going to add to the blog, to the real site instead.

Thanks for your insights.

LOL, that was not the intention. I just wanted to add content which, by now, we all know "is king".

This is indeed what I have been doing so far (in the form of providing tips). Do I understand correctly that the blog FORMAT(and the title "blog") have no effect on SEO?

The blogger format is IMO bad for SEO. The only other OS platform I've looked at is WordPress and that looks far better. Watch for duplicate urls though; I'd recommend seeking out a few tutorials on how to set up WP correctly for SEO. There are also a number of themes (free and paid) that aim to make WP more SEO-friendly.
