I use since years Google Alerts.

They are the major news source for me,
in a world whrere journalism is extreme self censored.

I receive a about 20 news alerts a day.

I find about 5% of them important to publish and comment them on my web site.

When I read the TOS, there is written, publishing is not allowed, I would have to apply for special publishing rights.

But there is not writte where to apply?

Any URL or email address to apply for Google news alerts publishing?

I can't even find that much information - got a link to that TOS?

My guess is that Google doesn't want to make these "special publishing rights" easily available, hence there's no automated application process - but that's just a guess.

Funny, when I look at the help menu they tell you how to publish the alerts dynamically to your website...

See Item 17 on this page:
[google.com...]

Then they take you here, which explains exactly how to do it:
[code.google.com...]

Maybe you're talking about publishing the full articles or I'm missing what they are meaning when they refer to developers, but usually they mean web developers, I think?

This is an uncontrolled publishing in a box.
You tell the alert keywords for the box, but You do not have any further controll over the box.

I also do not want to publish the full article.

All I want is to cut and paste an alert from the alert email to my web site and write below comments about this news.

Something like hand picked news. For some of my keywords, 95% is uniteresting garbage, 5% is very usefull for me and my readers.

So, go to the original source, copy and paste a snip-it, make comments on the snip-it...
I don't see what's wrong with that? Why even ask Google?
