Automated queries filter is blocking manual queries also

I hear a lot about Google stopping automated queries but I get the same error message when I do manual queries. As soon as I use more than one operator (e.g intitle, intext, etc) in a combined query, I get blocked after only 3 or 4 queries. Google obviously thinks its automated but it's not. I don't use automated scripts etc. It's all by hand.

Is there any way to avoid this or a way around it?

This particular block sometimes is too sensitive, and other times the sensitivity seems dialed back. There's not too much I've ever found to do when Google is blocking manual searches except to wait a few minutes.

Maybe the block is also intended to filter certain types of manual queries too, for instance if they don't appear to be genuine searches.

I too had seen this with certain types of queries, even with a single operator, such as'intext' and 'site'. Some instances Google gives a captcha to beat the filter.

On rare occasions when I have done an "only an SEO would do this" query, I have been given the captcha after a single search. This hasn't happened to me for over a year.
