I have created a new sub-domain on last month-end. I used my another existing and well performing sub-domain for internal linking due to quick crawling and backlink principle and I have had place it separate tracking code (Google Analytics) for each sub-domains. I have done very honest approach not stuffed keywords & links. Gradually my new sub-domain position ranking & visits are increased in Google and very recent there is a sudden fall in the visits. But there is no issue in my existing sub-domains and also it’s performing well on Google. When I am checking Analytics the new sub domain visits are dropped at Direct and Search Engine level not Referral source. And few presented keywords are not performing in Google. In the mean while no. of page index also increased for my new sub-domain. It’s really puzzling… how and why it’s happening?

Hello Nitin, and welcome to the forums.

Your new subdomain is only about three weeks old, correct? Subdomains are treated a lot like new websites, and the early days can be a roller coaster for rankings. It is very common, for instance, to get early good rankings and then see them go away, only to slowly climb back up. i call those early good rankings a "honeymoon period".

I can't say for sure what's going on with your site, of course, but I do think that three weeks is too early for deep concern about ranking changes.

Thanks Tedster…

24th Aug onwards I got very few visits from Google and it was slowly increased (honeymoon period) and now it’s falling almost 90% visit per day. And we strictly followed by Search Engine guideline. In this case, can I wait and see the early performance. Or should I do Link Building to get more support?

If you can attract trusted links to your content, that will help your subdomain acquire more trust and stabilize its ranking faster.
