Google isn't crawling my site but does rank it fine

Hi all
I have a blog of 2 months old. It ranks fine on its keywords since those are specialized programming topics, no much site has info about that.
But google webmaster tool shows that Google isn't crawling my site for last 2-3 weeks, while it still rank my site fine, and my position is slightly higher than before.

I swear I didn't do any bad tricks. I didn't build links at all, except posting one topic to the relevant forum. I have some back links now but all of them are added by readers to their own blog, I didn't exchange link with them.

2 week ago my site was down for some days, google would get 500 error or blank page if it tried. Is google mad one me for that? But it is back for one week and google still won't craw my site. I submitted a sitemap the day before yesterday but it doesn't help

On the other hand, I have another domain which has nothing on it except some affiliate links, but google sticks to crawl it every day.

I am not new to web programming but new to web mastering, now google is really a mystery to me ;-)

Guys do you have any suggestion?
Thanks in advance.

Hello purpureleaf, and welcome to the forums.

Googlebot crawling goes through some peculiar cycles of heavy to light - they've got their own algorithm for assigning a "crawl budget" to a website at different times.

As long as your rankings are good (and that's saying something good about your site, since it's only 2 months old) you shouldn't worry. If the server problem was important, you would have seen rankings and traffic disappear.

thanks you admin ;-)
So you mean there isn't crawling-only penalty, so what I can do is just waiting.
