Hi All,

I've recently created a new website and submitted it to google about 2 weeks ago. Based on "site:" plus my site address, it has been indexed with about 100 or so pages. What is strange is that I do not have any search terms or keywords associated with the website in webmaster tools. It just says "NO Data Available."

I was wondering how long it typically takes to start getting keywords. My website appears to have been indexed, but I don't think it appears in any search results. I also have yet to submit a sitemap, which I don't think would help that much as the site is clearly indexed.

I think I've made a mistake that may have penalized me. As soon as I had submitted the site to google, I also placed an ad into adwords. Would this qualify as too many links in a short amount of time?

I do not think there is anything wrong with my website in particular.

Thank you.

My guess is that the new and improved Webmaster Tools still can be a bit slow with a new site. I appreciate your enthusiasm for seeing how a new site measures up - but two weeks is very new.

As soon as I had submitted the site to google, I also placed an ad into adwords. Would this qualify as too many links in a short amount of time?

No, Adwords and other PPC ads are not counted as backlinks.

Thank you for the quick reply Ted. I wasn't aware that there was a new webmaster's tool!
