June Google UK Penalty - how long before I should change anything?

A lot of my websites took a severe hit on or around June 20th. With Google UK SEO traffic across domains dropping almost completely off the radar. I notice there's a number of threads here with a similar topic.

I usually do PPC (now I remember why!) but my question is how long should I leave these domains, which were ranking on page one for my terms, before going through and changing anything?

According to the discussion in the thread Google.com SERP Changes - June 2009 [webmasterworld.com] there's a lot of churn and upheaval being noted on Google UK right now. Wait at least until that stabilizes, however long it takes.
