What percentage of the SERPs run Adsense?

The small study I am conducting suggests about 30% of a SERP runs Adsense.

Of course I give this figure with the usual caveats about niches, location, time of week, etc, etc.

It interests me because it is of course in Google's economic interest to have more Adsense in the SERP (notwithstanding their long-term commitment to relevance (even though they call ads "relevant))

What is your experience? Have you seen SERP niches that are saturated with Adsense? Some niches with none?

I await your valued input.

Cheers

Commercial results (mostly ecommerce sites) do not often run Adsense. Informational sites often do. That's the main differentiator I see.

It is not in Google's long-term interest to hide e-commerce sites for searches with a clear "shopper" intention just to get some Adsense in there, and I don't see them doing that. Google has always been playing the game with a long-term strategy.
