Major Google slowdown this morning?

I'm almost unable to use any google product this morning including search, webmaster tools and analytics. Every other site I visit runs fine although adsense seems to be hanging occasionally, as does analytics.

Is there a major outage happening right now?

Me too, I've been having a problem with it practically all day, with accessing the main search page. I pinged with the www and it showed www.1.google.com one time. It pinged OK without the www at that time, so I supposed it was a server, load balancing or DNS issue.

BTW, I'm also having a slowdown with WebmasterWorld loading on and off today, while waiting for Google Analytics to load.

I hadn't checked but www.client1.google.com is appearing for me too if I search G, but not every time. I need to verify facts and look for similar reports when I write articles so it's a pain, I hope it doesn't take too long.

We're experiencing technical difficulties that may prevent your chats from being sent.

That's what I see when I try to connect with a buddy on the east coast right now and gmail is not sending emails "still working" hangs endlessly.

I'd say having EVERYTHING G go down at once is a sign of an achilles heel, shouldn't be possible unless intentional.

Haven't had trouble accessing any Google services, like Analytics, Adsense and Search, throughout the day. I'm not in the US, though.

No problems at my end, in the SF Bay Area. I looked for comments in Twitter Search, though, and there are enough tweets to suggest that this was clearly not an isolated event... but not enough to suggest that all of Google was down.

I've experienced situations on the web where certain parts of the country would go down for a site, but the conditions that caused the outage would be outside of the hosting company's control. "Network conditions" is often the phrase used.

I have no idea if this is the case with what you saw (or didn't see ;) ) on Google today.

It's back up to full speed now in my area of the US. My neighbor came over to tell me my site wasn't loading any ads when he saw me working in the garden, even adsense wasn't working here, I'm surprised nothing official was written about it.

edit: it looks like the University of Texas experienced the same thing a few days ago - [utexas.edu...]
