Possible reasons for dropping to 200th position

Hello All,
Firstly our website has ranked in Top #1 for all most all keywords in google for long time, being trustworthy. We did not even participate in any paid listings or even in pay per click and so.

Later on our site dropped for all, some keywords in even 200th position. I think of if the site is being penalized.

Still the Crawled Pages, i.e through site it shows steep increase even now. The Page rank did not even change.

Still even for now there are results in Top #1 for very fewer Keywords and low competitor.

One more of which i thought, if too many affiliates are in, is that a problem, as we give them much of outbound links.

It certainly sounds like a penalty - possibly some variant of the so-called minus 950 penalty [webmasterworld.com], or over-optimization penalty.

Have you studied the threads in our Hot Topics area [webmasterworld.com], which is always pinned to the top of this forum's index page? That should give a lot more information to think about with regard to your lost rankings.

Firstly Thank you, i have gone through the Hot Topics, my site's position seems to be nearly same as those penalties defined.

Is there any method to resolve, clear of whats the present situation.
