It is a post similar to some of the things I asked before but see that there is no way to contact google about any issue ( there used to be but all I can find now is google forums ...) i am asking this in this forum.

I went on my webmaster tools and noticed google gives me my ranking for specific keywords in all the different googles' in the world. www.google.com ( USA ) www.google.fr, www.google.com.au

it is a telling me that for a specific keyword in google.com USA I rank number 13 th for a specific keyword and in fact with my swiss IP address I can see my self ranked in google.com ( but with a swiss IP ) However with a us IP address I can't find myself in the ranking it is telling me I am on google.com ( usa ) ?

which to means means that the webmaster tools is not a 100 % working or maybe that google updates it ranking on google.com ( usa ) in different states around the us and that the IP address of the software I am using to connect is giving me is the IP address of a google data center that hasn't been updated yet ?

Could it be the case ?

Then one other quick question related to that for one word kewyords that I have been trying to target for over a year I am now ranked on the first page of www.google.ch for those words but nowhere on www.google.com ( I use to have my webite hosted on a swiss server for almost 2 years until 3 months ago, I am now hosted in the united state ) could it be the reason I am not showing in the usa yet for those words and does it mean that for google us to update its system and rank me on the words it might take a year or so ?

Thank you,

tedster

Here's what Google says about the "position" reporting in Webmaster Tools:

Position: The highest position any page from your site ranked for that query, averaged over the last week. Since our index is dynamic, this may not be the same as the current position of your site for this query.

[google.com...]

As you are seeing, the highest position averaged over the past week is also affected by geo-location. It's not just a matter of which data center - sometimes the same datacenter changes the order of rankings according to geolocation too.

As we've discussed in the past, it can be much more competitve to rank well from the US than from Switzerland.
