Hi everyone

I'm having trouble getting a link to one of my sites removed from a paid directory. I've sent countless emails to them but have not received a response. I'm concerned that the link has caused my site to be filtered by Google and would like it removed ASAP. I'm not sure what else I can do. Any ideas?

One paid directory is unlikely to cause a ranking problem on its own, no matter how spammy the directory is. If it could, then competitiors would be buying such directory entries for their competition.

However, if you do feel that this is at least part of the cause of a ranking problem you have, then you can mention it and what you've tried to do in a Reconsideration Request to Google.

That is a relief to know. I am a little bit hesitant about mentioning it in a reconsideration request, although I suppose transparency is key in these matters.

Many thanks
