Why do NoFollow Blog Comments Show Up in Yahoo Linkdomain? Are they still given value on other search engines besides Google even if they blog comments are no follow?

Maybe they still have value for Google Rankings?

They show up in WebmasterTools sometimes, too. It doesn't mean they have any algo power - it's just there for information.

Anchor text from nofollow links also shows up in Webmaster Tools lists. Maybe they keep a record of them because they want an overall picture of a page's backlink profile, so they can check how natural it looks.

Yeah I dunno, I see a lot of SEO's still leaving comments on nofollow blogs so it still makes me want to believe there is some sort of algorithm value even though its nofollow.

I wonder if it would be good to do it to help build a natural looking link profile, for example doing so would show you have both follow and no follow links which would be better than google seeing nothing but follow links in your link profile.

Any more thoughts on this topic?

First, excuse my manners - welcome to the forums!

You can believe what you want to - but if you test it, you'll find out that there's no pop there at all. Sometimes people leave comments just to join in a conversation, you know?
