Backlinks difference in GWT and Alexa

Hi,

Backlinks for my website in Alexa are 607.

External links in GWT are 8,321.

Their are repeated links showing in GWT.

Now my question is having so many links from one external website is helpful to my website?

Which one i have to go with GWT or Alexa?

Which one is showing the exact numbers of external links to my website?

Neither source will show you the exact number. The closest to complete (but still not really complete) free online source for backlink data is Yahoo! Site Explorer.

Not so much these days. It's a common situation, for instance in blogrolls, but the helpful effect is seriously dampened after the first couple links or so.
