Using dashes in titles - Does it affect Google's ability to publish?

I had an issue whereby I published an article with a dash ("-") in the title. However, the title didn't show up beyond the dash in search results. I was wondering whether there was a specific reason for this?

Does your title have a true hyphen - or is it some other character that is actually high ASCII, such as an en-dash?

Thanks for the info tedster... I thought of that too, so I'll replace the title pages manually into the CMS. Though it may be a week before I know whether Google's reindexed the pages!
