Hi,

I have a site that was ranking 2nd position in Google for our branded terms. The bot visited the site last night, according to the cache version. Now the site in question does not rank with-in the top 100 on Google. Please advise.

Welcome to the forums, dkaushikcrs.

My best advice is not to jump into any action - give it a few more days. Did you make any changes to the page right before this spidering?

I agree with Tedster, wait for a while.

It is very common for a page to disappear from a top ranking for a day or two and then be restored right back where it was. This must be a normal part of Google's update cycle.

Thanks guys! I was wondering if there had been any updates to the algo with-in the last 30days.

Side Note: Another one of our sites has now moved down one position and I am starting to wonder if our sites are facing OOP penalties, as we are working to push down ROR.

You can count on it - Google said publicly that they made over 400 algo changes last year, so in the past thirty days there probably were over 30 changes, using the averages.

We do have a thread every month dedicated to discussing these changes - the SERPs Changes thread for April is here [webmasterworld.com].
