Hi

Does anyone know if it's OK to put a link to a site's homepage using the domain name in the copyright footer? On one of my sites I have done this from all internal pages. The format is:

Copyright 2009 Domain Name

Domain name is the anchor text.

Any ideas would be much appreciated, thanks.

If you put this on day one then it is OK to continue to do so but if you add this link to hundreds of pages at the same time, it can create problems.

I dont see the advnatage of doing such a thing. Youre basically putting a Home Page link on the footer of every page. I'd prefer to see the link on the top menu.

I had done this in the past but now removed it.

It's been like this since I built the site - my initial idea was to boost the home-page ranking, but I'm mindful of the way Google treats the anchor text of internal links these days.

The site is under some kind of filter at the moment (happened in March) so I'm trying to identify reasons that might have caused the rankings drop. Thanks for the input guys.
