Hello,

I created a brand new website with new web address and the old pages of my website are still showing up in the search results a month later, next to my new pages.

I didn't want to do a redirect 301, I wanted to start from scratch again and was wondering if it is normal that the old page are still showing up in the search results ?

How long is it going to take for those to disappear and how can I make sure google deletes those.

Thank you,

Is it really a brand new site?

Well if I understood you correctly, the old pages are showing up on Google SERP. Are your files still hosted on your server? Do they still have backlinks from other sites? That may be the cause, but in general it does take time to re-crawl. I think my new links were crawled within 2 months so give it some time.

Is the old site still up? If so help Google out here. A no index meta tag on the pages and a disallow all in robots text will do the trick.

It takes about 2-3 months for G to flush it's toilet. So, buy plenty of toilet-paper till then because until G'ster flushes, your old URLs will be seen in various Webmaster Tools reports as well as the public search results.

It is funny that G drops pages that we want in the index, but when you really want some pages to go away it can take months, but they do go away.
