Naming Image Files with a space

I have several hundred images uploaded all at one time then extracted using the CMS software. I didnt take the time to give each picture a unique name and instead highlighted the whole folder and renamed to example.jpg

The computer named each one as follows:
example (1).jpg
example (2).jpg
example (3).jpg
...

so the URL of the photo looks like:
photos/image_1/example%20(4).jpg

How much does the %20 or space have an effect on SEO? I dont think it would be worth it to go back and change all the file names and URL's.

Is there any quick solution?

I never allow spaces or symbols (apart from hyphen and underscore) in ANY filename on ANY computer. It always cause trouble, if not today then some other time when you will have forgotten the possible cause.

There are auto-rename tools available online. I use a free one that works very well.
