does nofollow prevent dilution of targeted keywords on page?

a new template version of internal pages being presented has quite a few menu links, and am concerned about dilution of the targeted keywords on these granular pages.

we intend to use nofollow on these menu links (except for home link) for sculpting of page rank, but wasn't sure if this would also prevent dilution of the target keywords from all the link text?

Any comments on this appreciated.

According to one report (I've not run the test myself) the anchor text on nofollowed links will be treated as plain text, but it probably won't receive the additional weight that Google gives to anchor text on a page.

I discussed this briefly on this very long thread, which you should read if you're playing with nofollows....

My post on the topic is on Mar 15, 2009, msg #:3813131, and there's some discussion and explanation that follows. The subject may have been discussed elsewhere in the thread as well. It's hard to say. ;)
