Hi, I have been noticing a drop in Google traffic over the last few months and want to make sure everything is OK.

I see a file " mysite.com/objects" what is this? It says it is restricted by Robots file and I never created the file name or restricted it... Is the a problem/

Here is the text read, does this look OK?

User-agent: msnbot
Disallow: /cgi-bin/
Disallow: /bin/
Disallow: /dyn/
Disallow: /objects/
Crawl-delay: 30

User-agent: Slurp
Disallow: /cgi-bin/
Disallow: /bin/
Disallow: /dyn/
Disallow: /objects/
Crawl-delay: 30

User-agent: *
Disallow: /cgi-bin/
Disallow: /bin/
Disallow: /dyn/
Disallow: /objects/

also my perfered domain is set to "no preference" is this ok or should I choose one/ Will it effect my links I have gotten over the years? Will it affect rankings if I change it or can it help?

Thanks,

tedster

No, it doesn't look right - it could be a sign that your server has been hacked.

Or, if you are on a shared server and your web host offers a bunch of automated services to every account, these files just "might" be placed their by them instead of you.
