Social Bookmarking sites - do they help rankings?

I have a lot of traffic on my sites, and lots of people using addthis bookmarks to bookmark pages.

I was wondering... anyone know if when someone uses google bookmarks to bookmark a site, or something of that nature, do you know if that can affect your search engine rankings?

Does google keep track of what people bookmark?

Thanks in advance

According to this Matt Cutt's video [youtube.com] Google doesn't tend to classify sites as "social media" but rather according to whether the site's pages are truly useful. With that in mind, I'll hedge my bet and say "it depends".

We know that many pages that are little more than link collections get gray bar TBPR - that can be a sign that Google has some reason not to give much power to the page. But certainly there are top-shelf bookmarking sites that have white or green TBPR showing on the toolbar, and many people say links on those pages seem to help ranking.
