I have seen that Google provides a search box just below the sitelinks for some of the website. Which says on the click button as: "Search example.com"

I am really keen to know how can this be achieved for a website as it really looks authority apart for the sitelinks are are already present and am sure must be having a really high CTR

This was discussed extensively about a year ago when it first appeared....

Some reports suggest that it's being seen more frequently now.

...it really looks authority...

That's because it is. The boxes appear for high volume authority sites, and Google chooses these based on actual traffic. There's no way of faking this. ;)

Does anyone of us know a rough traffic threshold beyond which we might be able to get the site search box.

It's likely that traffic and size aren't the only metrics.

Google must also be looking at user behavior... how often site search is used and/or how often the search query is revised, but for the same site... and Google is then trying to anticipate by providing the box. I remember that in the US, irs.gov is one of the sites that got the box.
