How long does it take google to analyze a website and rank it. I just changed my website and totally redesigned it, including all the text etc... and was wondering how long it is going to take for me to rank on really competitive keywords where I have never ranked before.

One month , 6 months, 2 years ?

Thank you,

There's no easy answer. A very strong site might start ranking for new keywords within a week, and another site might never rank.

There are too many factors involved - backlinks and their anchor text, history and trust for your domain, whether you changed file names, how many pages are involved, how well your site handles canonical issues, and so on. You're not going to rank for highly competitive keywords through a re-design alone.

In terms of pure analysis, once a page is spidered then the analysis can be done within the day or even faster. It's just that some parts of the algorithm include time and stability.
