Has 'vince update' messed up exact keyword domains?

Hi Folks

My stratedy up until today has been this.

Register a domain for an exact "low hanging phrase" that is highly valuable to me... ok not much traffic but good..

Until now my sites have always ranked between 1-3 in google as soon as they are indexed...

Since the recent Vince update my recent 2 sites rank for zero... each has 3-6 incoming links, unique content and are no different from my previous 8 sites... both sites use same tried and tested template as my old sites... they do not even rank for long tail key phrases that are unique to them both..

I pray this is just the dance/update messing things up..

Regards David

Interesting observation. Probably depressing to you, yes, but it certainly could be the flip-side of the brand strengthening that many noticed with this algo tweak.

At the same time, there's the kind of wide-spread observation in this new thread [webmasterworld.com], that exact keyword domains for product types, and even long-tail phrases, have been working quite well.

How does this all balance out, I wonder. Is Google working to undermine the keyword domain advantage for those sites that are not showing the signs of a "robust" business?

this recent "update" really bugs me when I'm looking for a very exact phrase. I dont want all the garbage sites coming up... I want exactly what I put in parenthesis .

Happily today I can report "one" of my sites is ranking 7 for its keyword but the other still does not show... Hi Brewenched thats the thing I could not understand about this... although my target terms do not produce much traffic I provide "exactly" what the searcher wants.. I thought Google would love this... I will now watch and see what happens...
