Changed Host and Gone from Google Same Day

My site has been on the fist page of Google'd SERPs for many major keywords for years. It was still OK this morning. Not any more. I have just moved my site to a new host(today), the move took most of the day. The DNS propagation seems to be complete and my site has totally (100%) disappeared from Google. Some experts are saying that the DNS setup on my new host might have been done incorrectly. I ask for your support. Any thoughts please. Thanks.

My first thought is that it may be back tomorrow. If you can get to the domain through a browser, then googlebot most likely can as well. My first concerns would be:

1) a bad robots.txt file on the new server
2) a poorly executed bot-blocker bby the new host.

If there is a Webmasteer Tools account, I'd check it for information. If not, I'd set one up right away.

Back in 2005, Google's Matt Cutts wrote a blog post about changin web hosts. The advice he gave still holds - you might pick up a clue or two from it: [mattcutts.com...]

can you check in your serverlogs and make sure Googlebot is able to access your site?

Have you checked your domain with a server header check to see if your correct canonical form is returning a 200 OK status?

As tedster says, that's the place to start:

GWT > Sitemaps > Last Downloaded

If you see it was downloaded well after the propagation was complete, and you are still out of the SERPs, then you have at least eliminated one possibility -- that you're not being found by googlebot -- so you can then move on to other areas of investigation.
