Here is a 15 minute video that talks about optimizing for Google Image search. Nothing earth shattering but it is Google reaching out explaining what they need from us.

I wish they would fix the problem with hotlinked images. Pi55es me right off.

There is a fix for the hotlinking, but I agree, it is very big problem as my site ended up having almost all its images removed from the standard image search setting (SafeSearch=default). As a result we lost a massive amount of traffic.

Be careful with what is said in this video as it gives you the basics of what to do with images, but it does not help with SEO side of things. It suggests putting many (several) keywords in the ALT tag, but this ends up being very bad for SEO and your position ends up dropping.

This video is really the first time there's been any public face or name we can attach to Image Search. I'll bet Peter Linsley will watch comments on his video (there are currently none, and it's already day 5!)
