robots meta noindex tag in body (but not head); will it be ignored?

Hi,

I have the ability to drop a noindex tag in the body but not the header.

Do you think Google and the other engines would ignore it.

Sounds like you have a CMS system that's not too SEO friendly. There's a related question, not the same as yours, but involving similar considerations, in this current discussion...

Does Google count Titles that are not inside <head>?
[webmasterworld.com...]

The references in that thread suggest that you might want to do some w3.org research for the robots meta tag as well.

Redesign the CMS. There's no excuse for such sub-standard products this many years after the web started.
