In my web hosting account, I have an option to redirect from example.com to www.example.com. I am using a site building application and I don't have access to my root host file or .htaccess file. This option to redirect is an option in the site building application.
About 90 days ago I chose the option. Ninety days later, I saw the latest update to my Webmaster Tools account and I noticed some interesting things. The first thing I noticed is in the dashboard where it has both example.com and www.example.com under the sitemap column it said warning.
When I click on example.com in the dashboard, I notice that for Errors for URLs for Sitemaps all pages in the site except the homepage are listed. When I click on Details, the detail for every page is Redirect error and for Linked From it says Unavailable. For the category URLs not Followed, that also has all the pages except the homepage and in Detail it says Redirect error. When I click on the Links button and then on Internal Links it says I have 0 internal links. For external links, it also says 0.
When I click on the details for both the example.com sitemap and the www.example.com sitemap I receive this message in Line Status: URLs not followed
When we tested a sample of URLs from your Sitemap, we found that some URLs redirect to other locations. We recommend that your Sitemap contain URLs that point to the final destination (the redirect target) instead of redirecting to another URL.
Under Details I am seeing: HTTP Error:

Most of the inner pages are mentioned and the homepage is mentioned as example.com/home.html All mentions are in http://example.com format. There is no www
I think there is some connection in the fact that 90 days after checking the box to redirect from example.com to www.example.com these things are happening. I just don't know enough to get a handle on it. Can anyone please explain to me what might be going on here? After 90 days passes does it mean something in how the domains are seen or processed, or maybe is there something else happening?
