Why is Google making their logo with XO today?

I know Google is cutting back on some services and there was a recent plane crash in USA plus horrible fires in Australia going on right now, so why is their logo Gxogle today?

For a fleeting second... just an instant now... I thought tic tac toe. ;)

Seems to me earlier today/yesterday... whenever the hell it is now... they had a small Unix time stamp of 1234567890 below the logo to commemorate the moment, and for an instant I thought it was a coding glitch.
