hi,

is there a problem with pages that have byte order mark? when searching in google for a keyword phrase when I click on the cached page google does not bold the keywords that were searched for on that page. the site shows up fine in the serps (for now)could this be a problem later on?

I've only rarely seen problems like this, where the cache page does not accurately bold the query terms. Your bom guess is one possibility I never considered, but it might be an explanation. Does your server send accurate character encoding information in the http header?

At any rate, if the page is being returned properly in the search results, that's a sign the content has been indexed and tagged properly and I doubt that you would see future problems in that area. The cached page display is a different process from the indexing and tagging for the SERPs.
