Just picked up on this latest remark :

Seems Google have turned off the interlinking filter

[webmasterworld.com...]

Interlinking filter ? I've never gotten a complete handle with the interlinking site scene.

Over the last 24 months , Googler's have said it's OK in moderation with a few guidelines , on the other had there are frequent posts from authorative webmasters advising to steer clear of it, this isn't what they've witnessed, and they say it will sink sites.

The circulating information is precarious , vague contradictory and confusing to say the least ; so what's your understanding of what's happening.

Interlink your sites for your visitors benefit, and not in an attempt to boost rankings in Google. That's pretty much it, in as general a statement as I can make.

If a webmaster were concerned about a possible downside to interlinking, wouldn't "nofollow" alleviate those worries?
