We moved our website around 6 months ago to a new server for the first time in 8 years.

We still kept our old server since our cms was on it but we put a 301 in.

I noticed today that when I type in the old ip address into google that it shows a result of www.site.com, which is our current live website.

Does this mean that google is still trying to crawl the old server and knows about the 301 and has properly figured it all out?

Thanks in advance

Do your server logs show googlebot requesting the IP address? That's how you would know.

Thanks tedster, no there is no googlebot info in the old servers logs for several months now so I guess its just picking up the 301 of the ip and equating it with the domain.

Thanks again.
