Geographical differences - 13 here, 50 in Carribean

I expect this is normal, but, I have a client site who enjoys anywhere from 6 or 7 to 15 in overall positioning for a specific key search phrase.

However, he is located down in St John, VI, and when he searches the exact same phrase, he's coming up at 45 or 50.

Normal geo-targeting? These are organic results, by the way. Or is this some weird anomaly?

That is a rather stark difference. Is the search phrase local to the Carribean, so that a user in the Carribean location might tap into lots more local pages?

I have noticed that home language of browser influences ranking so this should be checked. For example, running www.google.co.uk from UK or from Croatia will not result in the same URL once the search button is clicked as Croatian PC will show hl=hr in URL whereas in UK it shows hl=en.

From what I could see the above has resulted some differences in SERPS for the same search terms. So I suggest that you firstly check that the URL is exactly the same in both locations.
