Will images loaded from subdomain be seen as duplicate content?

I have a website example.com, and it loads all of its pics from example.com

Suppose, I create www1.example.com and it has the exact same image files as example.com

If I change my site, and load half the pics from example.com, and half from www1.example.com, would Google see the duplicate images as duplicate content?

I have a graphic intensive site, and there are studies that say you can boost web page load time by loading images from different sub domains.
I just wanted to put up a duplicate directory of the images on a sub domain, and load half my images from there.

does this make sense?

Mostly when people talk about duplicate content, they are discussing text content - that's what gets ranked in the SERPs. There is no ranking problem that I know of because of serving images frm another domain.

Tedster, I've lurked these forums a long time. I trust your opinion, so I'm going ahead as planned. I'll keep everyone posted if something unexpected happens.

Thanks
