.The keyword is at the 55th position on google.fr with the following options :

There was another recent post here with something similar - a .co.uk domain ranking well on google.com and poorly on google.co.uk. It is hard to understand things like this.

I'm experiencing this with lot of keywords:
Sometimes ranking well, on .com and being nowhere to find on a country search.
Wich is very weird since my websites is about my country and has a local domain.

Like Tedster says: there have been several posts about this issue and no answer.

I'm convinced that users searching locally and not finding me are missing some of the information they are looking for...
which is the opposite of what Google is trying to do, isn't it ?

To tell you the truth, I got tired of Google not being clear about some specific issues, so...I gave up looking.

Gandhlaf;

Did you try also on datacenter (via their Ips) and with the
&hl=XX&cr=countryXX of your country on google.com (where XX are your country 2 letters).

Antoine,

my website was penalized more than 6 months ago.
Since I was not doing anything wrong, i've tried every possible way to find out what was going on.
Finally, i got used to it, even though it was an important loss of traffic (and money)
Good thing it was not my main business.

The way I see it:
I can't think of a reason why I should waste my time anymore to try each and every datacenter's ip to do a search for some information that should be so easy and obvious to find.

What is the point of Google Webmaster Tools if not tell me: "this is wrong, you are penalized"

So, to answer your question: yes, I did try the datacenters back at the time, but with no luck.
