I have a website that has been running for some time, The site is indexed by google and when I looked on my sitemap (on google webmaster tools) all the pages are listed okay.

However my problem is that the text/content for my page doesnt seem to be cached. When I select a chunk of text from my site and search for it it is not being found on google?

Any possible reasons for this?

Hello millsy007, and welcome to the forums.

The reason for that kind of symptom is usually low PageRank, and the situation can change when you attract more backlinks.

When Google decides that some content is of "lower importance", they apparently don't tag it completely to make it findable in ordinary search results. The page might only be findable for the strongest "signals", such as the title and headlines.

but, my favourite test lab for this is the heavyweight tripadvisor. So often chunks of reviews posted on this site will not return as first result in serps or may even require clicking for omitted results in a quotes search. You will normally find the same reviews on its affiliates coming up first. Im starting to wonder if this is caused by its own duplicated content across its geo sites and its internal urls. Although they have the content first, and are pretty much one of the biggest hitters in terms of site importance out there, duplicating its own content is knocking it back for exact blocks of text searches.
