Hi all,
i have a website that is multilanguage, but so far the keywords in the index page were only in english. Now we have them translated.
the querstion is, shall i put them all together in the same index page, or there is a workaround to use multilanguage keywords?

what about the desctiption? right now, searching keywords put the site in the search results, and in the google search result page i can see that the title is the one displayed in the title page, and the description is the one i use in the metadescription. i also have this translated.

the site is multilanguage, and the language are choosen on the same index page, and there is not a page for each language. Is this mandatory to have an index page per language?
what i want is that searching in french, the site will appear with the description also in french.

thanks all.

there is not a page for each language

This is not a successful approach. Even without thinking of Google, think of your end user who only reads one language - they do not want to see many languages on one page or use the bendwidth and time needed to download information they cannot understand.

And to think about Google, you know that they offer searches for specific languages. A page with more than one language has a big disadvantage in such a system.

This thread has a good discussion on yuour topic: [webmasterworld.com...]

The short answer is to build pages that are in one language, and to collect the pages for any given language into one section of a site (subdomain or directory) or even on their own domain.

Also note that the meta keywords tag means little or nothing to Google, so don't worry about that.
