Hello kiransss, welcome to the forums.

Have you verified your Analytics code is still in place on the pages? With any kind of analytics you need to be sure that your data is accurate. Do you have any other way to see what your traffic is like for comparoson - such as basic reports from your hosting service, or product sales, leads, contacts or the like?

Moving beyond that basic level, you can use Analytics to see the referers for your site - the sources of your traffic. Check that for just the 19th so you can see if there are any particular search terms (keywords) that were bringing you traffic and then stopped. That will give you some indication of what searches to check on Google so you can see where you rank right now - which would most likely be quite different from where you rankesd on the 19th.

Basically, you need to develop more specific knowledge so you can see whether you lost one source of traffic or many - and from there begin to analyze what changes you need to make.

We do not offer site reviews in specfic detail on our forums - but we do talk about the general principles involved.

I'd suggest that you become familiar with the discussions in our Hot Topics area [webmasterworld.com], which is always pinned to the top of this forum's index page. They can give you a place to start thinking about whatever you discover.

Total traffic for my website has come down from 19th for all my successful keywords. I analyzed all the keywords which were getting ranked previously(19th November). They were not at all in my reach. Meaning they were out of top 1000 search engine result pages as on date. Only 2 or 3 keywords were getting displayed in 900 SERP.

Do you have a Webmaster Tools account? I'd check there first to see if there have been recent crawling problems - or any other problem reports.

Not a solution to your quandary, Kiranss, since it probably only applies to a very small percentage of visitors at the moment, but probably worth knowing about...

Firefox's NoScript is becoming popular as an anti-exploit tool and it blocks all scripts, including google analytics and a few similar things, by default. There are other tools for Firefox that do a similar thing for GA.

Personally I prefer GA turned off when I'm browsing - saves page-completion time, which can be quite long sometimes with it turned on.

For some reason I love this phrase "Visits avalanche"

Anyways maybe ti is not your website that has changed but the value of those linking to you. Has your back link profile changed drastically?

Sometimes it can be down to a GA filter being added which restricted the traffic coverage to a particular directory.

I understood that this traffic/ visits avalanche to my website was due to the GA filter. Right?. Where can i find this GF filter in Google analytics. Does it exists in Google analytics?..Please suggest me where can i find this. Also suggest me the ways to remove the GA Filter. We are using Firefox browser for our daily operations. I request all SEO professional and webmasters to suggest me the remedy for my websites in tems of traffic.

Surprisingly no drastic change in back links. They were even better after November 19 2008. To be frank the rate got improved as on date. But there was drastic change in the Google analytics in terms traffic.

If the filter number is 0 then there is no filter active. The filter link is shown on the GA homepage on the Filter Manager link.
