Google not listing client website - suggestions needed

I submitted a website I had done for a client to Google via the url submitter on their site in July.

Any other sites I have submitted have been fine but Google only listed it based on a holding page saying new website coming soon, which is how it was at the time. I resubmitted the site a month later when it was complete in August but Google have never updated their listing. In September I updated my own site (web design and linked both sites and also some reciprocal sites based on the clients field. My site has updated on Google but my clients site hasn't

I used Google webmaster tools and it came back with no errors so I cant understand why Google isn't updating my clients site. Last week I also used a SEO tool I found on netcraft and it informed me the site was 82% compatable, so I really can't understand why Google aren't updating it.

I looked last week at the webstats and Google robot visited the site on the 9th November. Ive looked today in the hope that it has been updated but I cant find it at all now on Google.

Is it worth me using Google webmaster tools to ask them to reconsider listing the site?

Any suggestions appreciated, thanks

You didn't mention backlinks at all - does this site have some backlinks from other sites that are indexed?

I haven't bothered to submit a site to any seach engine for quite a few years - backlinks are all it takes to get indexed, and without them, even a submitted site does not usually stay in the index.

In addition to backlinks, try submitting a sitemap and definitely set up a Webmaster Tools account to receive feedback and to have an authenticated channel for your communications to Google.

There might be some server level issue with your site. For one of my client site, I waited for 4 months for it to get indexed and even contacted the hosting company to look into the issue. Though till date I am not sure what was the server issue, however as soon as I changed the hosting company, the site got indexed within 24 hours.

Tedster is right, try to submit the sitemap in Google and get some links from other sites.

Alternate option: use bookmarking sites, they also helps in indexing of the page.
